Kaduna Police Arrest Suspect Providing Military Uniforms to Bandits

In Kaduna, police have apprehended a suspect connected to supplying military uniforms to bandits in Niger State. On August 25, officers on patrol along the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna highway stopped a vehicle and discovered a leather bag containing 15 unsewn military camouflage uniforms. The suspect revealed that these uniforms were intended for a contact in Udawa village, who would then distribute them to bandits operating in the Chukuba area of Shiroro LGA in Niger.

The suspect is currently assisting the police in tracking down other individuals involved in this operation.

Additionally, on Tuesday at around noon, a police patrol team in Makarfi encountered armed robbers who had blocked the road with logs and stones. A gunfight ensued between the robbers and the police. The robbers, overwhelmed by the police’s superior firepower, retreated into nearby bushes. One robber was neutralized, and a locally-made pistol along with a cartridge was recovered. Efforts to capture the remaining suspects are ongoing.

In another development, Abdulaziz Abdulmumin reported his blue-black Toyota stolen. The vehicle was later spotted in the Hayin Dan Mani area of Igabi LGA, leading to the arrest of two suspects on Monday evening. Abdul Mukhtar and Mamman Ahmad, a resident of Zoo Road, Kano, were detained. Ahmad was found driving a Mercedes Compressor with a registration number suspected to be stolen. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to using a master key for vehicle theft.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full scope of the suspects’ activities and identify any additional accomplices. Commissioner of Police Audu Dabigi praised the officers for their effective work and reassured the public of the command’s commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the state.
