Ukrainians Injured in Intense Russian Missile Strikes

On Monday, Russia launched a significant barrage of drone and missile strikes against Ukraine, hitting Kiev, Sumy, and Kharkiv. In Kiev, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported two injuries and damage across various neighborhoods due to the attacks.
Western Kiev experienced several fires that affected houses and vehicles, and while windows at a metro station were shattered, the service remains operational. Klitschko noted that cruise missiles and drones were used in the assault, with the missiles reportedly fired from Saratov in the Russian Volga region.
Ukrainian air defenses intercepted approximately 10 cruise missiles and drones over Kiev. Nationwide, the military estimates that a total of nine ballistic missiles, 13 cruise missiles, and 20 drones were downed.
In Sumy, located near the Russian border, the impact was more severe, with 18 people injured, including six children. The police reported the destruction of five apartment buildings and an educational institution.
