Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Aunty Ayo Lalagbon, Passes Away

Ayodele Fadairo, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police known as Aunty Ayo Lalagbon, has died. The news was shared by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on his Facebook page.
Aunty Ayo, who retired in 2010, served under former Oyo State Governor Adebayo Alao Akala, among others.
In a 2010 interview with the Nigerian Voice, ACP Fadairo recounted her relationship with musician Orlando Owo during his difficult times. She advised him to quit smoking and offered support when those he relied on abandoned him.
“I had been a fan of his music long before we met,” she said. “When I found out he was in Alagbon, I was eager to connect. As he met with the DIG, I was there too, and that’s how our friendship developed. I tried to counsel him about leaving drugs and other issues.”
When asked about her reaction to being mentioned in one of Orlando’s songs, Fadairo admitted, “I was quite alarmed. As a police officer, I was taught to avoid certain involvements, including music. It made me uneasy, not knowing what the implications might be.”
