Military Airstrikes Target Terrorist Stronghold in Kaduna

Air strikes carried out by the air component of Operation Whirl Punch have successfully destroyed a terrorist logistics base in the Yadi Forest, located in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. This facility was linked to a notorious terrorist figure, Kadade Gurgu, an associate of the well-known leader, Dogo Guide.
In a statement released on Sunday, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), explained that the operation took place on Friday, following intelligence that indicated a significant terrorist presence in the area.
Ali stated, “As part of ongoing efforts against armed terrorists in Kaduna and surrounding regions, the NAF has eliminated the logistics base at Yadi Forest. This action was taken on September 27, 2024, after credible intelligence indicated a large concentration of terrorists and their weapons at the site.”
He elaborated that thorough intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance efforts confirmed the regular presence of terrorists and their motorcycles in the vicinity. It was also determined that the logistics base was operated by Kadade Gurgu.
The airstrike was executed with precision, as Ali noted, “The Air Component deployed an aircraft, accompanied by intelligence and reconnaissance support, to target the location. Initially, the area seemed deserted, but as the aircraft neared, several terrorists were observed fleeing from the brush.”
The operation resulted in significant destruction of the logistics facility, engulfing it in flames and producing thick black smoke. Subsequent reports from local sources indicated that the attack was effective, resulting in the destruction of the base and the deaths of numerous terrorists involved.
