Gov Eno Appoints Daughter Acting First Lady After Wife’s Passing

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has named his daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, as the Acting First Lady following the recent death of his wife, Pastor Patience Eno.
This announcement came during a condolence visit from Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other notable figures in Uyo, the state capital, on October 4.
Governor Eno explained that his daughter will assume the responsibilities of the First Lady to ensure the continuity of the office and the initiatives started by her late mother. “To uphold the role of the First Lady and continue my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, who will collaborate closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare,” he stated.
He expressed confidence in Helen’s ability to carry forward her mother’s legacy and vision, reaffirming his commitment to sustaining the projects initiated through the First Lady’s office.
Reflecting on his profound connection with his late wife, Governor Eno shared, “I married her aawhen she was 19, and I was 22. I referred to her as Oluwa-Kemi because she was truly a blessing, my source of strength
