Fayose: “Tinubu Is Doing His Best Amid Economic Challenges”

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has voiced his support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, asserting that significant efforts are being made to enhance the living conditions of Nigerians.

While acknowledging the ongoing economic difficulties faced by the populace, Fayose remains hopeful for an impending turnaround. In recent statements, he noted the commitment of the Tinubu administration to enact policies aimed at improving the economic situation.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Fayose candidly remarked, “It’s been a tough time for Nigerians, but this government is genuinely trying its best, though they need to step it up further. People might question how much time is required, but I believe that with a bit more patience, we could see improvements.”

He emphasized that the current economic challenges stem from long-standing issues that cannot be resolved instantly.

Reflecting on governance in Ekiti, where he served two terms, Fayose praised the current governor, Biodun Oyebanji, despite being from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Oyebanji represents the All Progressives Congress (APC). “As a leader in Ekiti, it would be unfair not to recognize the good work he has done,” Fayose stated.

He confidently predicted that only a significant change could prevent Oyebanji from securing a second term in 2026. “Barring unforeseen circumstances, I don’t see anyone defeating him in the upcoming election. We must be realistic—the PDP is facing its own challenges in Ekiti,” he added.

Fayose highlighted that Governor Oyebanji has managed to unite leaders across different political affiliations with

in the state.
