Ganduje Confident APC Will Gain Control in Rivers State

Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong optimism that the party will soon establish control in Rivers State.
At a recent event in Abuja, Ganduje emphasized plans to “rebuild and reposition” the APC’s chapter in Rivers to create a formidable presence in the region. His comments came during the official rejoining of Dr. Dawari Ibietela George, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), to the APC.
The discussion among party leaders focused on revitalizing the Rivers State chapter and transforming it into an effective platform for serving the local populace and the nation. Ganduje reiterated the party’s commitment to inclusivity and fairness while embracing various interests.
He praised George as a “big fish” in politics, expressing confidence in his potential to enhance the party’s impact in the state. “Rivers State will be entirely APC,” Ganduje asserted, highlighting his expectations for George’s return. He assured him that a robust organizational structure would be put in place to support him and other returning members. “You are now equal members alongside every other party member. We are dedicated to expanding democracy in the country,” he added.
The event at the APC national headquarters was attended by several key figures, including members of the National Working Committee, such as Chief Hon Victor Giadom and Hon Titsi Ganama, along with former colleagues of Dr. George from the House of Representatives. Barr. Tonnie Anierohwom, the 2023 Deputy governorship candidate of the AA in Rivers, was also welcomed into the APC.
Dr. George previously visited the National Chairman of the Action Alliance, Chief Ken Udeze, to inform him of his decision to return to the APC. Udeze appreciated the visit, acknowledging George’s courtesy in updating the party on his political journey. He noted, “The respect and camaraderie we share will always be positively memorable for both of us,” while also commending George and his team’s contributions to the Action Alliance’s growth, which he believes will leave a lasting impact.
