President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund, aimed at honoring Nigeria’s military personnel and recognizing their vital contributions to national security.
During a ceremony at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, President Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the Armed Forces, acknowledging their role as the nation’s primary defense force and commending their recent successes in addressing security challenges. He highlighted the crucial link between security, peace, and development, praising the military’s steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
In a show of support for fallen heroes, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume announced a donation of N500 million on behalf of the Executive branch. Senate President Godswill Akpabio followed suit with a N200 million contribution from the National Assembly, while Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa pledged N50 million on behalf of the Service Chiefs and Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
