Ondo Gubernatorial Election: PDP’s Agboola Ajayi Criticizes Flawed Electoral Process
Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election, has voiced strong concerns over alleged irregularities in the electoral process, particularly citing accusations of vote-buying.
Ajayi cast his vote at Apoi Ward 11, Unit 004, located at RCM Idumado Quarters in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking to reporters after voting, Ajayi expressed his disappointment with the election process, stating, “The system has clearly been compromised. It’s disheartening that INEC cannot successfully conduct an election in a single state. The BVAS system malfunctioned, and it took nearly 10 minutes to capture my details. I believe this is intentional, and I hold INEC and the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, responsible. We have repeatedly raised concerns that she is not impartial.”
Ajayi further emphasized the widespread complaints he has received, particularly regarding vote-buying, calling it “a disgraceful and shameful practice” in the election.
