How Labour Party is Becoming Stronger Ahead of 2027 Polls – Onuakalusi

In the face of internal challenges within the Labour Party as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, Honourable Barrister Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, a prominent member of the party and representative for Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency, has expressed confidence in the party’s renewed commitment to resolve disputes and move forward together.
Onuakalusi shared this optimism during the Labour Party Youths Delegate Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, emphasizing that the tensions within the party are no different from disagreements that typically arise within families. He described such disputes as normal, adding that they are part of the natural process of growth and unity.
“As members of a family, it’s natural for there to be disagreements,” Onuakalusi remarked. “But just as families reconcile and continue to function together, so too will we as a political family. Our challenges are a stepping stone to progress, and we are determined to forge ahead. Nigerians voted for us because they desire change, and in our roles as lawmakers, we’ve actively worked to pass important legislation that serves the public.”
The lawmaker further assured that party leaders and stakeholders are actively working to restore harmony within the party. He noted that efforts are being made to unite all factions under a common purpose, with the party’s leadership seeking to address grievances and prioritize reconciliation.
“We’ve reached out to the leadership and urged them to set aside differences for the greater good of the party. The youth are leading the charge for unity, and when they speak, everyone listens. Their call for peace has brought the party together, and I’m confident that this renewed unity will propel us forward,” he concluded.
