Governor Fubara Slams Wike’s Media Aide, Calls Him “Data Boy” and “Dog Seller”

Governor Fubara Slams Wike’s Media Aide, Calls Him “Data Boy” and “Dog Seller”

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has lashed out at a media aide to Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, referring to him as a “data boy” and “dog seller” in a sharp rebuke over criticisms of his administration’s recent projects in Etche-Omuma.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Fubara took aim at the aide, who had allegedly questioned the Governor’s project launches. The Governor challenged the aide’s qualifications and questioned his understanding of governance, despite his close association with the former governor for eight years.

“If they truly value you, why didn’t they give you that appointment?” Fubara remarked. “You’ve got to check yourself—something isn’t right.” He expressed frustration over the aide’s online attacks, accusing him of using social media to make unconstructive comments, likening it to “selling dogs” and engaging in trivial behavior.

The Governor’s comments were sparked by the aide’s claims that the ongoing projects in Omuma were mere continuations of initiatives started by Wike’s administration. Fubara clarified that while his administration acknowledges past efforts, it is dedicated to implementing new and meaningful projects that address the present needs of the people.

“We are not here to celebrate meaningless projects,” he emphasized during the inauguration of the renovated Government Girls’ Secondary School in Ahoada, a project inherited from the previous administration. “This investment is meant to provide quality education to the girl-child and shape responsible citizens for the future.”

Fubara took the opportunity to stress that his government is focused on delivering impactful projects with lasting value, contrasting them with previous initiatives that he claimed lacked substance. “Project delivery isn’t about publicity stunts,” he stated, underscoring the importance of addressing the community’s core development needs.

The Governor also expressed gratitude to the Ekpeye people for their unwavering support, despite facing challenges such as the wrongful detention of traditional rulers and Chief of Staff, Dr. Edison Ehie. “The truth always prevails—those who oppose us will not last forever,” he declared, reaffirming his confidence in eventual justice and success.
