NYSC DG Announces When Corps Members Will Begin Receiving N77,000 Monthly Allowance

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has revealed that corps members will start receiving a monthly allowance of N77,000 beginning in February 2025.
Speaking to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 11 corps members in Katsina on Thursday, Ahmed stated that this new allowance had been incorporated into the 2025 Federal Government budget.
“Though January has concluded, once the budget is approved, starting next month (February), you will receive N77,000 instead of the previous N33,000,” the NYSC DG confirmed.
He further explained that the increase in the allowance had been approved by the Federal Government and encouraged the corps members to show appreciation by making meaningful contributions during their service year.
Emphasizing the importance of corps members’ welfare and safety, Ahmed assured that no corps member would be deployed to areas with security risks. “We will not assign corps members to locations facing security threats. Wherever you are posted, rest assured that it will be a safe and secure environment for your service,”he added.
