Court Did Not Cancel Arrest Warrant Against Reno Omokri, Says Adama

Reno Omokri

James Paul Adama, the Convener of the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, has rejected claims by Reno Omokri that the court has quashed the arrest warrant issued against him. According to Adama, the assertion made by Omokri is false.

Earlier, a court presided over by Chief Emmanuel A. Iyanna had issued a remand warrant for Omokri on January 13, 2025, following an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. The motion was filed in connection with charges of defamation of Christianity and harassment of religious leaders on social media.

Omokri, however, later posted on Facebook claiming that the arrest order had been revoked.

Adama, in response to the claim, emphasized that the Concerned Christian Youth Forum had filed the case, not Pastor Paul Enenche, as Omokri suggested. He stressed that the group’s efforts are focused on addressing the online attacks and cyberbullying against Christianity and its leaders.

In a statement on Monday, Adama clarified, “Reno Omokri’s claim that the arrest warrant has been quashed is false and misleading. The case is ongoing, and Pastor Paul Enenche has not filed any legal action against him. The Concerned Christian Youth Forum is the proper party in this matter, not Dr. Enenche, as Omokri wrongly asserts.”

Adama also criticized Omokri’s attempt to mislead the public, noting that the legal process is still underway. He stated, “Omokri must face the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, who are the rightful parties in this matter, and be held accountable for his actions.”

He further pointed out that the absence of Omokri’s name from the FIR was merely a procedural issue and did not clear him of the allegations. The court, Adama explained, will ultimately decide the truth of the matter.

“This attempt by Omokri to misrepresent the facts is nothing more than a desperate tactic to avoid the consequences of his actions,” Adama concluded. “The Concerned Christian Youth Forum will continue to pursue justice through the proper legal channels, confident that the truth

will prevail.”
