Violence Erupts in Elele as Fubara and Wike Supporters Clash Over Power Struggle

A violent altercation unfolded in Elele, a town in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, between two rival groups—one supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the other backing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.
Sources report that the Fubara supporters, led by Odinaka Wokoro, a councilor whose election was recently annulled by the Supreme Court, gathered around 7 a.m. at the Elele roundabout to show solidarity with the governor. They were confronted by another group, headed by Iheanyi Wossa, a local security chief. The confrontation appeared to stem from ongoing tensions over control of local revenue collection.
During a visit to Madonna University Teaching Hospital, three individuals were observed receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. A senior doctor, speaking anonymously, confirmed that all three had undergone surgery for their injuries.
