While Others Seek Attention, Wole Oke Delivers Impact – Omotosho Fires Back at Ogungbangbe

Dipo Omotosho, a retired Director from Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, has issued a scathing response to Osun Commissioner for Business and Empowerment, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, over remarks made during a recent interview on Fresh FM. In a fiery rebuttal, Omotosho accused the Commissioner of engaging in cheap political theatrics aimed at discrediting Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke—an accomplished federal lawmaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Omotosho didn’t mince words, branding Ogungbangbe’s comments as both reckless and unnecessary. He called on the Commissioner to focus on his responsibilities under the Adeleke administration rather than acting like a political provocateur. “Rather than uplift the party, Ogungbangbe is known for reaching out to Hon. Oke only in times of personal need—sometimes requesting favors as big as vehicles,” Omotosho claimed.
He cautioned that assigning leadership roles based on loyalty instead of capability is a recipe for dysfunction. “When political patronage overrides merit, we end up with sycophants instead of leaders. And that’s a dangerous road for any government,” he warned.
Omotosho also criticized the Commissioner’s priorities, noting that with pressing issues like crumbling infrastructure, a shortage of teachers and health workers, and rampant youth unemployment, it’s troubling that Ogungbangbe would choose to attack a lawmaker with a proven track record. “Hon. Oke has consistently delivered real, measurable progress to the people of Obokun/Oriade. That’s more than can be said for many in his position,” he said.
Addressing Hon. Oke’s departure from the PDP, Omotosho made it clear that the move was deliberate and well-considered. “It wasn’t a rash decision. Hon. Oke consulted with his community, family, and key political actors before embracing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. His focus is on empowering youth, revitalizing infrastructure in Ijesa North, and honoring the legacy of Chief Bola Ige,” Omotosho explained.
He dismissed rumors about Oke’s future political ambitions, stating that the lawmaker has never hinted at running independently—a route not recognized in the Nigerian constitution. “Political aspirations should be approached with maturity and structure, not baseless gossip,” he added.
Omotosho praised the likes of Mayowa Adejorin, who have publicly confirmed that Hon. Oke is fully committed to his current role and has not discussed any plans for future contests.
He concluded with a reminder: “Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke is not in the business of chasing headlines. He’s building legacies. While others seek attention, Oke is busy changing lives.”
