In a tragic turn of events, 36-year-old Adamu Yusuf recounted the harrowing moment he watched rising floodwaters sweep away his loved ones in the early hours of May 29. The catastrophic flooding hit Tiffin Maza, a community in Mokwa, Niger State, leaving devastation in its wake.

Adamu, who managed to survive by swimming, lost nine close family members, including his wife and their newborn child. Tiffin Maza is among the communities most severely impacted by the disaster, with many families left grieving and homeless.
