Madueke Set for Arsenal Switch as Chelsea Accept £52m Offer
Arsenal are closing in on a £52 million deal to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, with both clubs reaching an agreement in principle for the England international.
The 23-year-old took part in Chelsea’s training session in New York on Thursday morning, as the team prepares for their Club World Cup final clash against Paris Saint-Germain. However, it’s now looking unlikely Madueke will feature in that match, as his transfer to Arsenal appears to be nearing completion.
Sources say personal terms between Madueke and Arsenal have already been agreed, with a five-year contract on the table. This would make him Mikel Arteta’s latest addition in what has been a targeted search for more depth out wide.
Madueke featured regularly for Chelsea last season and played the full 90 minutes in their UEFA Conference League final win over Real Betis. He also made an appearance in their Club World Cup semi-final against Fluminense, though he came off the bench amid murmurs that new manager Enzo Maresca questioned his current level of focus.
The move, once confirmed, would mark a significant shift in Madueke’s career—and another big-money intra-London transfer between two fierce rivals.
