I Never Said Anyone Killed Mohbad” – Iyabo Ojo Speaks Out Amid Backlash and Threats

I Never Said Anyone Killed Mohbad” – Iyabo Ojo Speaks Out Amid Backlash and Threats

Popular actress Iyabo Ojo has come out to clear the air on the death of singer Mohbad, saying once and for all—she never accused anyone of killing him.

Amidst rising tensions, death threats, and even a police invitation, Iyabo took to her Instagram to drop a heartfelt statement. In it, she said what many have twisted or misunderstood: she only asked for justice—not vengeance, not finger-pointing.

She explained that an old live video of hers had resurfaced online, sparking the whole drama. But according to Iyabo, that video wasn’t an accusation. It was just her calling for the people involved in Mohbad’s life to come forward and help the investigation.

“All I did was request that some people be questioned over what happened to Mohbad. I never said they were guilty of anything,” she explained.

She went on to share that her foundation, Pinkies Foundation, actually sent formal letters to government bodies—from the Governor of Lagos to the Attorney General—asking for a proper investigation and coroner’s inquest. She says everything was done the right way, and she never stepped on the police’s toes.

But all of this hasn’t come without a heavy price.

Iyabo revealed that she’s been getting death threats. Some days before her daughter’s wedding, a strange letter came threatening her life. And now, creepy videos and images of coffins with her name on them are being shared online.

“They’ve been calling for my death for years,” she said painfully. “They keep pushing the public against me and my children.”

As if that wasn’t enough, her office was recently burned down. All of it—she says—has taken a huge toll on her physically and emotionally.

Yet, through all the pain, Iyabo says she’s not backing down. She’s still ready to honor police invitations. But she’s also asking people to understand that she’s grieving and going through a lot.

“I believe in justice. I believe in truth. And above all, I believe that God will see me through this storm,” she said.
