Peter Obi Reacts to Claims of Defecting to PDP

Peter Obi
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential flagbearer in the 2023 general election, has dismissed reports suggesting he is planning to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Ibrahim Umar on behalf of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), Obi reiterated his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), distancing himself from the circulated statement claiming otherwise.
According to the statement, Obi has consistently maintained a clear stance in ongoing political alliance discussions and has not authorized any declaration suggesting a switch in party affiliation.
“Peter Obi has made his position on coalition talks clear and does not require others to speak on his behalf,” the statement said. “He is fully focused on his goals and will not tolerate any attempts to misrepresent him for personal or political gain.”
The media office also urged the public to ignore any statements attributed to Obi unless they are released through his official media channels or social media
accounts.
