Shooting Stars Assistant Coach, Akin Olowokere Collapses and Died During Training Session

Akin Olowokere, the newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club in Ibadan, Oyo State, tragically collapsed and died during the team’s training on Monday morning.
Olowokere was among the recent additions to the 3SC coaching staff. As of now, no official statement has been released regarding the cause of his sudden death.
Eyewitnesses who spoke with PUNCH Online in Ibadan reported that Olowokere suddenly fell while on the training pitch. He was immediately taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Further information revealed that Olowokere, a former player for Sunshine Stars of Akure and later a coach, collapsed while actively participating in training exercises, prompting urgent medical intervention before he was rushed to an undisclosed medical facility.
He had just been introduced as part of the new coaching lineup for the Oluyole Warriors, following the departure of the previous coaching team led by Gbenga Ogunbote.
Known for his quiet demeanor, Olowokere spent many years as a key player for Sunshine Stars before transitioning into coaching roles. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach at Sunshine Stars under the leadership of head coach Edith Agoye.
