Fuel Subsidy Removal Has Enabled Us Deliver on Our Promises –Enugu Governor, Mbah

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has credited the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government as a key factor in enabling his administration to deliver on its campaign pledges to the people of the state.
Speaking at the Enugu Government House during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, led by Minister Mohammed Idris, the governor noted that the policy shift had unlocked vital resources that are now being channeled into transformative development projects across the state.
“In Enugu, the removal of the subsidy has given us the financial headroom to initiate and implement large-scale capital projects we promised during the campaign,” Mbah stated. He highlighted ongoing initiatives such as the construction of 7,000 new classrooms, 3,300 hospital beds, and the development of 260 farm estates—one in each of the state’s 260 wards—covering a combined 2,000 hectares.
Governor Mbah also reaffirmed Enugu’s support for federal government policies, emphasizing that they align with the state’s developmental goals and are ultimately in the best interest of the people.
The visit formed part of the federal government’s two-day Citizens’ Engagement Series in the South-East region.
