Premier League Tops UEFA’s Latest Ranking of European Leagues
As the 2025/26 football season kicks off this August, UEFA has released its updated ranking of Europe’s top domestic leagues — with the English Premier League once again leading the pack.
According to the latest club coefficient data published on UEFA’s official website, the Premier League has secured the number one spot, outperforming all other leagues across Europe over the past five seasons in UEFA competitions.
Italy’s Serie A comes in second place, climbing above Spain’s LaLiga, which now holds the third position. Germany’s Bundesliga and France’s Ligue 1 round out the top five.
UEFA’s league rankings are determined by the collective performance of clubs from each country in the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League over a five-year period. These coefficients play a key role in determining how many clubs each nation can send to European competitions.
