Obasa commends Tinubu’s leadership at Ramadan lecture
At a well-attended Ramadan lecture in Lagos, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as “resolute and visionary leadership” at a critical time in Nigeria’s history.
The event, which brought together Islamic scholars, political leaders, and members of the public, focused on the spiritual lessons of Ramadan and their relevance to governance, accountability, and national development. In his remarks, Obasa said the holy month offers an opportunity not only for personal reflection but also for leaders to recommit themselves to service and sacrifice.
According to the Speaker, Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated courage in taking difficult decisions aimed at stabilizing the economy and repositioning the country for long-term growth. He noted that while some reforms may appear challenging in the short term, they are designed to secure a more sustainable future for Nigerians.
“Leadership requires strength, patience, and a willingness to make tough calls,” Obasa said. “President Tinubu has shown determination in confronting issues that have lingered for decades. These are not easy choices, but they are necessary for national progress.”
Obasa also emphasized the importance of unity and collective responsibility, urging citizens to support policies that promote economic recovery and social stability. He linked the values of Ramadan — discipline, compassion, and sacrifice — to the kind of civic engagement needed to build a stronger nation.
The Speaker further commended the President’s commitment to infrastructure development, institutional reforms, and efforts to attract investment. He expressed confidence that the current administration’s policies would yield tangible benefits as implementation continues.
Religious leaders at the lecture echoed calls for prayer, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that Nigeria’s diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a source of division. They encouraged leaders at all levels to govern with integrity and fairness.
The Ramadan lecture concluded with special prayers for the nation, its leaders, and citizens, with participants expressing hope that the spirit of the season would inspire renewed dedication to justice, equity, and shared prosperity.
