Horror Strikes In Ekiti as Woman Allegedly Raped to Death as Kidnappers Demand Virgins for Hostage Release

Communities in Ekiti State are gripped by fear following a brutal abduction and alleged sexual assault that resulted in the death of a middle-aged woman in the Ajoni area. Residents report that the woman was seized by suspected kidnappers and repeatedly assaulted before succumbing to her injuries.

Local sources indicate that the attackers initially demanded a ransom of ₦1.5 million, along with drugs and alcoholic beverages, for the release of her body. Items reportedly requested included “Canadian Loud,” cocaine, crystal meth, and cartons of beer. Villagers, unable to provide the drugs, pooled resources to meet the cash demand.

Tragically, four community members who volunteered to deliver the ransom were also seized by the kidnappers. The criminals then escalated their demands, reportedly insisting that two virgin girls be handed over to secure the release of the four men, threatening their lives if the demand was not met.

The attacks have sparked widespread alarm across neighboring towns, including Itapaji, Iyemero, Oke-Ako, Irele, Ijowa, and Ipao, where residents say insecurity has persisted for years. Community members claim armed groups operate freely, disrupting access to essential services such as water and healthcare.

Many locals have voiced frustration over the apparent inaction of political representatives, accusing the senator and House member for the area of offering only condolence messages without tangible interventions.

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organization has confirmed receiving reports of the incident and called for immediate action from authorities to stabilize the situation. Residents are now appealing to the Federal Government and security agencies to restore safety and prevent the crisis from escalating further.
