APC Pledges Full Support for Tinubu in 2027, Kalu Vows to Deliver Abia

Abia State Senator and former governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has reaffirmed the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) determination to secure comprehensive victories in the state for the 2027 elections, with a particular focus on ensuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking on Friday at his Igbere country home in Bende Local Government Area during a gathering with his support groups, including the Reality Organisation and OUK Movement, Kalu insisted that APC is united in Abia and committed to delivering both Tinubu and the party’s candidates across all political offices.
“APC is one in Abia State. The Congress is united. Everything the Deputy Speaker (Ben Kalu) did, I did it with him. APC is united, and there is no quarrel. We are going to fight as one. APC must deliver President Tinubu at the polling booths here. APC must also deliver all three senators in the state,” Kalu told the gathering, as reported by The Punch.
He urged party supporters to avoid internal sabotage, recalling the challenges faced during the 2023 elections. “Some people are going to Abuja, telling the President that the APC is not united. It is not true. I have informed the President. Not only will we deliver him, but we will also deliver the entire APC here. This is my commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he emphasized as reported by The Guardian Nigeria.
Highlighting peace and transparency, Kalu noted, “We want peace to reign here, and elections must be free and fair. We have the people. When other parties in this state claim they have supporters, they have none. We have the people. We are not afraid of anyone. We are APC. We live by the rules. Our President is peaceful and wants peace in Nigeria,” according to The Nation Newspaper.
Kalu also stressed accountability in governance, citing the President’s allocations to Abia State. “Those in government must be accountable to the people. Let us go back, fight for our people, and fight for our party. President Tinubu has allocated substantial funds to Abia State, and mismanagement will not be tolerated,” he said, as reported by Daily Trust.
He further expressed support for the establishment of state police, stating, “Our President has given the National Assembly the mandate to establish state police so that people can be safe in their homes. I started advocating for state police when I was governor, and I continue to support it” according to Vanguard Nigeria.
On governance standards, Kalu highlighted his personal example as former governor: “Some state governors do not reside in Government Houses. I never slept outside the Government House during my tenure, no matter the condition. The Government House belongs to the people and must be respected,” according to The Punch.
The meeting also featured former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, who praised APC’s work in the state and credited Kalu with elevating the Orji family politically. Kalu’s younger brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu, reaffirmed his ambition to contest for governor in 2027 as reported The Nation Newspaper.
The senator’s address underlines APC’s strategic mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections, signaling a robust campaign effort in Abia State with Tinubu’s re-election as the focal point.
