Rick Ross Eyes Collaboration With Burna Boy, Dreams of Historic Global Music Project

American rapper Rick Ross has revealed his desire to collaborate with Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, describing the idea as part of a dream music project that could bring together some of the most influential figures in global music.

Speaking during a recent livestream interview, Ross shared the artists he would most like to work with if he could assemble his ideal collaboration. According to him, the project would feature himself alongside legendary musicians Bob Marley and Fela Kuti, as well as Burna Boy.

Ross described the potential collaboration as “next level,” explaining that blending the musical styles and cultural influence of the artists would produce a record capable of making history in the international music industry.

The rapper said he deeply admires the creativity and impact of the musicians he mentioned, noting that working with them would represent a major milestone in his career.

He expressed particular interest in Burna Boy, whose global success has helped push Afrobeats further into mainstream international music. Industry observers say Burna Boy’s collaborations with global stars have contributed significantly to the growing influence of African music worldwide.

Ross also mentioned his interest in working with Sade Adu, the iconic Nigerian-British vocalist known for her soulful sound and timeless classics. However, he acknowledged that securing a collaboration with the famously private singer might be challenging, given her selective approach to recording projects.

Despite this, the American rapper said he remains hopeful that such partnerships could happen in the future and create a historic moment for music fans around the world.

Nigerian media outlets including The Punch and Pulse Nigeria have reported Ross’s comments, noting that the possibility of a collaboration with Burna Boy has already generated excitement among fans of Afrobeats and hip-hop.

Music analysts say the idea reflects the increasing global recognition of African artists, particularly as collaborations between Afrobeats performers and international stars continue to shape the modern music landscape.
