Adeleke Under Fire as OSBC Workers Remain Unpaid After 23 Months
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the outgoing Governor Ademola Adeleke of guilty of not matching his promises with action, describing it as one of the many reasons the embattled governor does not deserve re-election in the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 governorship election.
How does one explain the seriousness of a governor who is fond of playing dirty politics with the sources of livelihood of the innocent people of the state with reckless political statements meant to only suit his whims and caprices?
The unpalatable unfolding events in Osun State have authenticated our copious allegations that the Ede-born perpetually dependent governor has put the running of his unproductive administration on a platter of lies and subterfuge.
The reason why the state governor has been doing the right things at the wrong times and the wrong things at the right times is because apart from the fact that he is bereft of the innate qualities required to effectively govern the state, he only strangely found himself foisted on the political leadership of the state where he has recorded abysmal failure in all ramifications close to four years ago.
It was unthinkable that a state governor whose level of understanding and knowledge is supposed to inform him that an hospital environment where infirmed are temporarily being kept for treatment should not be turned into an arena of a needless political jamboree, threw caution to the wind by disturbing the hitherto peace and serenity of the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, on Monday.
The state Governor Adeleke who had paid a discreet visit to a bed-ridden chieftain of his party who defected into his relatively unknown and grossly unpopular Accord Party  from the Osun-West Senatorial District of the state recently, took an undue advantage of his get-well visit to turn the supposed serene hospital environment into a campaign ground.
As if the witnessed political anomaly committed by Mr. Adeleke wasn’t enough, he made a reckless political statement whereby he promised all the casual workers in the government health establishment of automatic conversion of their employments into a permanent status.
Past events in the state have shown that Mr. Adeleke merely made a political statement to deceive the unsuspecting hospital casual workers who resorted to a wild jubilation by dancing, singing and glorifying the lying governor to high heavens.
It would be recalled that it was the same manner that the visibly embattled Governor Adeleke visited the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation(OSBC), Osogbo, precisely 23 months ago where he announced the regularisation of the appointments of the 66 freelance workers of the corporation which proved to be a mirage to date.
We pity Comrade Adeyemi Aboderin and Comrade Olalekan Akindoju, chairman and secretary respectfully of the Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, who reminded the governor on Tuesday, in a statement, to fulfill his 23-month-old  political promise of the regularisation of the appointments of the 66 freelance workers.
We are not surprised that Mr. Adeleke has not been able to fulfill his promises which has become the hallmark of his close to four-year-old administration which has usually been run by instinct rather than effective planning.
It is based on the foregoing that we are urging the good people of the state to reject the re-election of the puppet Governor Adeleke as he has nothing tangible to improve the fortune of the state as his best in the close to four years has proven to be insufficient to improve the fortune of the state.
The governorship candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) who has been in the public space for quite a long time in addition to his vast working experience gathered over the years in the private sector of the economy have prepared him for the developmental transformation of the state, is the panacea for the clearing of the lingering political mess created by Adeleke.
Despite all odds, we congratulate the scammed 66 freelance staff at the OSBC because the respite for their denial is in sight with the imminent loss of Governor Adeleke in the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 governorship election that AMBO will sack the Ede-born rattled and confused governor from the political firmament of the state.
