*This Victory Belongs to the Progressive Family” — KRAD Speaks After APC Senatorial Primary Victory*
Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, SAN (KRAD), spoke with journalists shortly after emerging victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election for Osun Central Senatorial District last Monday in Osogbo.
On Emerging Victorious at the Primary Election
*Q:*Congratulations on your emergence as the APC candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District. How do you feel at this moment?
*KRAD:*
First and foremost, I give all glory to Almighty Allah for this remarkable victory. I am profoundly humbled by the overwhelming support, trust, and confidence reposed in me by our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as by party leaders, stakeholders, and members across the ten local government areas of Osun Central Senatorial District.
This victory is not merely personal; it represents the triumph of loyalty, perseverance, progressive ideals, and the collective aspirations of our people for purposeful representation and inclusive politics. I regard it as a solemn call to greater service, deeper commitment, and selfless sacrifice.
Expressions of Gratitude
*Q:*At this defining moment, who are the key individuals you would like to appreciate?
*KRAD:*
I must sincerely express my profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his exemplary leadership and steadfast commitment to sustaining the progressive ideology that continues to inspire many of us within the party.
I am deeply grateful to our revered leader and elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, whose fatherly guidance, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to the advancement of progressive politics in Osun State and Nigeria remain invaluable.
I also wish to express my sincere appreciation to the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, for his mature, strategic, and stabilising leadership of our party in Osun State, as well as for the staunch support, confidence and encouragement extended to me throughout this process.
My gratitude equally goes to Baba Sola Akinwunmi, Chairman of the Igbimo Agba of APC in Osun State, for his invaluable guidance, trust, and steadfast support; Baba Shuaib Oyedokun, Comrade leader Poju Odusola whose fatherly advice and tutelage have put me in good state of mind to confront all obstacles.
I must also specially acknowledge the former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mama Titilayo Ponle, who has effectively taken the position of my mother since I lost my biological one and for her leadership, motherly support and unwavering goodwill throughout this journey.
Most importantly, I thank all our party leaders, elders, stakeholders, delegates, and loyal members across the ten local government areas of Osun Central who stood firmly with me and demonstrated faith in the credibility of the process and whose names deserve to be printed in the eternal book of fame. Their solidarity, commitment, and sacrifices made this victory possible.
A Call for Unity Within the Party
*Q:*What message do you have for your fellow contestants in the primary election?
*KRAD:*
They remain my brothers, respected leaders, and valued partners within our great party. Contestation is an essential feature of every democratic process; however, after every contest comes the greater responsibility of unity, reconciliation, and collective advancement.
I appeal to all my fellow contestants and their supporters to join hands with me in the spirit of brotherhood and progressive solidarity. In this contest, there should be no victor and no vanquished, because the task before us transcends individual ambition.
Our immediate collective responsibility is to work tirelessly towards the success of our great party in the forthcoming governorship election on August 15. We must unite fully, strengthen our ranks, and mobilise effectively to ensure that AMBO emerges victorious as the next Governor of Osun State. The success and continuity of the progressive family must remain our overriding priority.
Aligning with the Governorship Project
*Q:*During your remarks after the primary election, you linked your campaign to the governorship project. Why was that important to you?
*KRAD:*
Because this moment is far greater than any individual senatorial ambition. The future of Osun State and the continued stability of the progressive family demand collective purpose, strategic alignment, and shared commitment.
That is why I made it unequivocally clear that our immediate focus must be the forthcoming governorship election. We must mobilise our people, reinforce our structures, and work diligently to secure victory for our party.
In line with this objective, I have directed that our campaign materials, mobilisation efforts, and political engagements should align with the broader mission of delivering victory for AMBO. This is not the time for distractions; it is a time for unity, discipline, and strategic focus.
Expectations for Osun Central Senatorial District
*Q:*What should the people of Osun Central expect from you going forward?
*KRAD:*
In the coming weeks, I shall unveil a comprehensive legislative and empowerment agenda for Osun Central Senatorial District. Our people deserve purposeful, responsive, and people-centred representation—one that prioritises quality legislation, constituency development, youth empowerment, women inclusion, economic opportunities, and stronger access to federal interventions and opportunities.
However, at this critical moment, our immediate concentration must remain firmly on the governorship campaign and securing victory for our great party on August 15. By the grace of Almighty Allah, through unity, discipline, and hard work, we shall succeed together.
Final Message to Party Members and Supporters
*Q:* Any final words to APC members and your supporters?
*KRAD:*
I sincerely thank every party member, supporter, youth group, women leader, elder, and stakeholder who stood with me throughout this journey. I do not take your sacrifices, prayers, encouragement, and unwavering commitment for granted.
This victory belongs to all of us; indeed, it belongs to the entire progressive family in Osun State.
Now is the time for reconciliation, unity, and renewed mobilisation. Together, we shall continue to strengthen our party, deepen our collective resolve, and secure resounding victories for the APC at all levels.
May Almighty Allah continue to bless Osun State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
