It was jubilation, excitement and political camaraderie in Osogbo today as TEAM AMBO emerged victorious in the grand finale of the highly celebrated ILEYA Cup Football Competition organised under the Africa Super League (ASL).

The thrilling final encounter, played at the Africa Middle School Field, Ataoja Overhead Bridge Area, Osogbo, saw football lovers, youths and political supporters gather in large numbers to witness an explosive showdown between TEAM AMBO and AFRICA FC.

After an intense battle filled with passion, skill and determination, TEAM AMBO triumphed over AFRICA FC to lift the prestigious ILEYA Cup trophy amid loud cheers from supporters and residents who turned the venue into a carnival-like atmosphere.

The successful tournament has been widely linked to the vision and generosity of Hon. Ghaffar Ayodeji Ajani, popularly known as Ghaff Unity, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede North Local Government and the Osun State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement.

Hon. Ghaff Unity, who sponsored the competition, has continued to receive commendations from political stakeholders, youths and sports enthusiasts for investing in grassroots sports development and youth engagement across Osun State.

Speaking shortly after the final match, Ghaff Unity described the competition as part of ongoing efforts to positively engage young people and promote unity through sports, while also reaffirming his support for the governorship ambition of the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.

According to him, “Our youths are energetic, talented and full of potential. What they need is leadership that understands their dreams and is ready to invest in their future. That is exactly what Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji represents.”

He further stated that the APC gubernatorial candidate remains deeply committed to youth empowerment, sports development and economic opportunities for young people across Osun State.

“AMBO has consistently shown capacity, competence and genuine concern for the welfare of young people. His plans for sports development, skills acquisition, job creation and youth inclusion in governance will transform Osun State positively. This is why we must all rally behind him and the All Progressives Congress ahead of the August 15 governorship election,” Ghaff Unity said.

The APC chieftain also urged youths across the state to remain united and actively participate in the democratic process, stressing that the future of Osun depends largely on the choices made by the younger generation.

“This football competition is beyond entertainment; it is about building friendships, discovering talents and keeping our youths engaged productively. Under an AMBO-led administration, sports and youth development will receive the attention they truly deserve,” he concluded.
