Government House or Criminal Hideout? Osun APC Says IGP’s Directive to Flush Out Alleged Hoodlums Exposes Adeleke Government

Describes State Govt Diatribe Against IGP Misplaced, Afterthought

Pity is the word for the present condition of the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan, as he is faced with an arduous task of smoking out the criminals currently being housed in the state Government House by the state Governor Ademola Adeleke which has become a national issue.

How Gotan is going to handle the complex situation still remains a mirage as it appears an impossible utopia simply because Governor Adeleke has extended his constitutional immunity to the daredevil hardened criminals living in the Government House under the watch of the Ede-born embattled governor.

It would be recalled that the nation’s Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Olatunji Disu, during his working visit to Osun State on Friday, frontally confronted the state governor that there was an allegation against him of illegally sheltering the hardened criminals in the Government House to evade an arrest, investigation and subsequent prosecution.

The IGP stated that when he got the information that the Osun State governor has made the state Government House a safe haven for some of the known dangerous and hardened political thugs, he told the state commissioner of police that he knows what to do in order to effectively and professionally handle the situation.

We want to advise the IGP that any police action towards the smoking out of the criminals being lodged in the Osun State Government House would be meaningless without extending same to the country homes of the Adelekes in Ede, the tertiary institution and the secondary school owned by the governor’s elder brother also in Ede.

Following the furore created by the anomalous act of the  government converting the Osun State Government House to the den of political thugs, it is not impossible for the men who are fugitive to justice to have been moved to either the expansive tertiary institution or the secondary school also in Ede in order to shield the state government from the embarrassment that the smoking out of the daredevil thugs living in the Government House might cause the state chief executive who was only beating about the bush when he was confronted by the IGP on the weighty allegation last week.

Political history would not forget this anomaly in the 34-year-old state that once upon a time, there was a governor who desecrated the sanctity of the Government House by criminally converting it to the refuge of political hoodlums to evade arrest.

Though this is a tough time in the unpalatable political history of the state but we would like to appeal to our members, supporters and all other inhabitants of the state that they should have solace in the fact that what they are passing through is a passing phase that is not devoid of expiry date.

It is quite unfortunate that the state having illustrious sons and daughters like the late Chief Bola Ige, the Cicero of Esa-Oke; the late Chief Afolabi, former Internal Affairs Minister; Chief Bisi Akande; retired Lieutenant-General Alani Akinrinade and many more shiny stars in their chosen professions could find itself under the maladministration of a puppet governor who has glaringly run the state aground.

It is not an overstatement to observe and conclude that Osun State is in a state of inertia under the satellite Governor Adeleke where nothing tangible has been achieved other than the use of propaganda, deceits and subterfuge.

The anticipated respite for the already traumatized people of the state based on the misgovernance and policy somersaults of the outgoing Governor Adeleke is that the articulate, workaholic and ever-resourceful APC governorship  candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, who has been toiling day and night when the deregistered Accord Party governorship candidate was busy dancing, cursing and victimising the members of the opposition, is coming to occupy the political leadership of the state through the forthcoming governorship election.

The description of the IGP as a subtle blackmailer by the Osun State commissioner for information, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, in a television programme, for raising the issue of the allegation against the governor of keeping dreaded political thugs in the government house was misplaced and a mere afterthought as it was coming three clear days after the IGP had concluded his working visit to the state.

It is a pity that the Governor Adeleke administration is fond of needlessly injecting politics into serious security issues in the state as one needs not being a police officer to watch the viral video of some of the dangerous thugs justling to enter into a room in the supposed hallowed Osun State Government House in a viral video about two weeks ago.

The damage control mission of the ever-loquacious Governor Adeleke’s information commissioner is a medicine after death as the whole world has witnessed the anomaly of the government in being verifiably criminal-friendly in actions and inactions.
