OSUN APC KNOCKS BAMIDELE SALAM, SAYS HIS OUTCRY OVER TRANSPORT UNIONS IS MISPLACED

– State APC Slams MHR Salam

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Honourable Bamidele Salam, representing Ede-North, Ede-South, Ejigbo and Egbedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives of mischievously hiding under the freedom of political campaign by making inflammatory statements capable of fueling violence in the state.

Salam, the chairman of Imole Campaign Council, the body saddled with the re-election of the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election, accused the state chapter of the APC of acting in cahoots with the police to sack the members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) from the motor parks across the state on a national television on Tuesday.

The Accord Party chieftain also stated that the idea of the sacking of the NURTW from all the motor parks in the state was to sabotage the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC’s) logistics ahead of the 15th August, 2026 governorship election.

We are wondering why Salam is taking a dosage of analgesic for another person’s headache as our last check on his profile shows that he is a federal lawmaker and not a member of the NURTW either in the state or any other parts of the country.

Why the Accord Party chieftain chose to function as the media man of the national election umpire for him to have offered to speak for the commission that has not complained of any anomaly with its operations concerning the forthcoming governorship election in the state has sentenced him to a mere meddlesome interloper.

If Salam is interested in joining the NURTW, he is qualified to join as there’s a free entry and free exit in the body of the transportation union rather than for him to needlessly engage in the spewing of inflammatory statements while hiding under politics and politicking.

It is laughable that Salam could state in the interview that the APC is in a minority in the state when he knows himself that the relatively unknown and verifiably unpopular Accord Party without any known structure in the state is facing imminent defeat in the election to the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, who has been toiling day and night for his expected deserved victory.

It is improper for Salam to be cashing in on the ignorance of his boss to be telling him that he has a chance in the election when it is visible to the blind, audible to the deaf and tangible to the morons that Oyebamiji is the next governor of the state.

It is also worthy of reminding the interloping Accord Party chieftain that it is within the purview of the constitutional authority of the local government government chairmen to run and administer all the motor parks in the state by virtue of Paragraph 1(e) of the Fourth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) which assigns the local government councils authorities relating to the regulation of motor parks and enhancement of public order.

Governor Adeleke should allow the local government councils to be in the state by not unjustifiably interfering with the governance at the grassroots level just the way the Federal Government has not been interfering with his administration in the state for peace to reign.
