The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke SAN, popularly known as K-RAD), and Dr. Mulikat Jimoh, the party’s candidate for Ifelodun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, have pledged to convey the infrastructure concerns of Eko-Ende, Ore, Ilie, Iregba, Iresa, and other adjoining communities to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for urgent action.

Adegoke made the commitment during a consultation visit to Eko-Ende, where he joined the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Abdulwaheed Babatunde Adekunle, to inspect the abandoned bridge connecting Osun and Oyo States.

Initiated during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and awarded to MM & IF Construction Company, the bridge project was designed to facilitate the movement of goods and services across Ikirun, Eko-Ende, Ore, Ilie, Iregba, Iresa, and surrounding agricultural communities in Osun and Oyo States. However, the abandonment of the bridge has left the connecting road corridor stalled and virtually impassable.

Speaking on behalf of the affected communities, Oba Adekunle appealed to K-RAD to leverage his relationship with President Tinubu to facilitate the completion of the bridge as well as the reconstruction and expansion of the road.

“The bridge and road are critical to our economic survival, and giving them the required attention will have a significant impact on our livelihoods,” said the monarch.

The Elende added that communities across the area are mobilizing support for the President ahead of the 2027 presidential election. “We do not have any other candidate than our amiable President, our son and father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We believe he will listen to our brother, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke SAN, and approve this project even before next year,” Kabiyesi stated.

Responding, K-RAD promised to take the plight of the communities directly to Aso Rock Villa for the President’s intervention.

“We will do the needful as soon as possible,” K-RAD assured. Commending President Tinubu for ongoing infrastructure initiatives across Osun State, he added: “The President will recognize the strategic and historical importance of this project, and I am confident he will accede to our request.”

The Ikirun–Ogbomoso Road remains one of the oldest and most economically vital inter-state corridors in Southwestern Nigeria. Spanning approximately 55 kilometers, it serves as a critical commercial artery linking the agrarian settlements of Osun and Oyo States.
