Crime: Benue Community Volunteer guards nab three robbery suspects

Three suspected armed robbers were apprehended by members of the Benue State Community Volunteer Guards after they set up a roadblock along the Okpokwu/Ogbadibo highway.
Sources revealed that the incident occurred on Wednesday around 08:45 hours, causing numerous road users to become stranded.
While patrolling along the Odoba Hill, the community guards received information about the robbery and immediately took action, resulting in the arrest of the three suspected robbers after a intense chase.

A source stated, “On November 29, 2023 at about 08.45 hour, a team of the state Community Volunteer Guards were on patrol along the Odoba hill and got information that armed robbers were operating along the boundary between Okpokwu and Ogbadibo.
“They (the suspects) had concluded operation but the team went after them and were able to arrest three of them and handed them over to the police.
Joseph Har, the Special Adviser to the governor on Security and Internal Affairs, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.
He commended the members of the BCVG for their commendable work and urged them to maintain the same dedication, especially during the Yuletide season.
Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the State Command, Catherine Anene, were unsuccessful as her phone went unanswered.
