Abducted Kogi journalist’s wife, daughters regain freedom after two weeks

The family of Kogi journalist Mohammed Bashir, along with nine other individuals who were abducted two weeks ago in a suburb of Kaduna, have been released.
Bashir confirmed their release in a statement on Saturday but did not disclose details regarding the circumstances of their freedom or if a ransom was involved. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues and supporters, stating, “I want to thank everyone for their prayers and concern. My family and the others who were kidnapped in Kaduna have now been freed. I deeply appreciate your support and hope that such a situation never happens to any of us or our loved ones.”
Bashir’s wife, Aminat Shana, and his daughters, Aisha and Hajara, were among those abducted on a Thursday evening. Other family members who have also been released include Aisha Saba Khadija, Haruna, Adamu Haruna, Muhammad Abubakar, Asmau Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, and Hauwa Muh
ammad.
