Asisat Oshoala and Paul Onuachu Shine as Nominees for 2024 FIFA Best Awards

FIFA has revealed the nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awardsâ„¢ 2024, highlighting top performers in men’s and women’s football for the year. Among the nominees are Nigerian stars Asisat Oshoala and Paul Onuachu, both of whom have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the sport.
Football fans worldwide are now invited to cast their votes across various categories, including The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11. This marks the first time fans will have the opportunity to vote for these prestigious all-star teams.
New for 2024, the FIFA Marta Award will be introduced, celebrating the best goal in women’s football, alongside the FIFA Puskás Award, which continues to honor the most outstanding goal in men’s football.
The voting process allows fans to participate in selecting winners for key awards, including The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, as well as the top goalkeepers for both genders. Votes will be weighted equally between fans, national team coaches and captains, and media representatives.
In a significant shift, the Best FIFA Men’s 11 and Best FIFA Women’s 11 will now be chosen through a collaborative vote from fans and an expert panel. Fans can select their preferred players from a list of 77 nominees, featuring 22 defenders, midfielders, and forwards, as well as 11 goalkeepers. These selections will be allocated into preset tactical formations.
Voting for The Best FIFA Football Awardsâ„¢ 2024 is open now on FIFA.com, and fans have until 23:59 CET on Tuesday, 10 December 2024, to cast their votes. Full details on the voting process and award rules can be found on the FIFA Digital Hub.
