ASUU demands immediate recall of five sacked union leaders in LASU
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has demanded the immediate reinstatement of five union leaders who were recently dismissed from Lagos State University (LASU). ASUU argues that the terminations were both unfair and politically driven, intended to weaken the union’s efforts to advocate for academic staff rights and improvements.
The union maintains that the affected leaders played a crucial role in addressing staff concerns and promoting institutional reforms. ASUU contends that their dismissal undermines the principles of academic freedom and the role of unions in protecting the interests of university staff.
ASUU is calling on the LASU administration to reverse the terminations and reinstate the leaders as soon as possible. The union’s demand reflects broader concerns about the treatment of union representatives and the potential impact on academic integrity and staff welf
