Boko Haram Suicide Attack in Borno Village Claims 19 Lives, Injures Many

In Kawuri village, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, a suicide bombing has resulted in the deaths of at least 19 civilians and left many others injured. Kawuri is situated approximately 50 kilometers from Maiduguri along the Maiduguri-Konduga-Bama Road.
This attack comes just a day after Shettima Mustapha, an accountant with the Local Education Authority in Damboa Local Government Area, was killed when their vehicle hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu federal highway. Others were injured in that incident.
A month prior, multiple suicide bombings in Gwoza Local Government Area resulted in 32 deaths and over 100 injuries. Recently, terrorists attacked a police station in Jakana, Konduga, killing a police driver and his girlfriend, setting two security patrol vehicles on fire, and stealing motorcycles, arms, and ammunition.
According to a local source, the latest bombings occurred at a mini market in Kawuri around 8 p.m., leading to over 19 fatalities and numerous injuries. The wounded have been taken to an undisclosed hospital in Maiduguri for treatment. The community is currently in a state of panic and uncertainty.
Attempts to confirm the details with Police Public Relations Officer Kenneth Daso were unsuccessful, but a Kawuri stakeholder, who requested anonymity, confirmed the incident and urged the government and security forces to intensify efforts to address the ongoing insurgen
t attacks.
