Community Leaders Unite in Support of Prof. Akinmoladun

A joint meeting of Wards 8, 9, and 10 was held at the residence of Prof. Ifemidayo Andrew Akinmoladun, an indigene of Ipetu Ijesa, the founder of Irapada Movement, An Aspirant contesting for house of representative, Obokun/Oriade federal constitency, Osun state, After the opening prayer, ward leaders and members introduced themselves and settled in for what became a lively and united discussion.

The Director General of the Irapada Movement, Mr. Adefila, welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming together in unity. He explained that the purpose of the meeting was to formally endorse Prof. Akinmoladun, who is seeking political office. He also encouraged anyone with concerns or grievances to speak freely, so the group could move forward together.

Mr. Adeoye, Chairman of Ward 9, expressed his excitement at the impressive turnout and called on everyone to rally behind Prof. Ifemidayo Akinmoladun. He emphasized that with the right support and strategy, victory was within reach.

Mr. Arowosola  added that the entire gathering stood firmly behind Prof. Akinmoladun. He urged the group to remain united and focused.

 

Mr. Ife Arowolo, former youth leader of Oriade,  encouraged Prof. Akinmoladun to take his political ambition seriously and advised him to turn perceived opponents into allies. He also stressed the importance of building relationships with national leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, Adegboyega Oyetola and others to strengthen his chances in the primaries.

 

Mr. Kayode Meya echoed this, urging Prof. Akinmoladun to connect with decision-makers at the top of the party structure, assuring him of their full support.

 

Mr. Awotoye highlighted that Prof. Akinmoladun’s accessibility should be seen as an asset, one that could help the community move forward politically.

 

Mrs. Idowu Olabiji called on Prof. Akinmoladun to prioritize women’s inclusion and work closely with local influencers and political mobilizeer

 

Mr. Tom-Perry emphasized the importance of engaging grassroots players in local politics, while Mr. Sikiru Kamorudeen pointed out that Ipetu Ijesa, with its large voting base, deserves special attention. He advised the Professor to work hand-in-hand with leaders in Abuja.

 

Prof. Akinmoladun’s brother, Soji Akinmoladun, urged residents of Ipetu Ijesa to foster unity by treating each other well and strengthening local relationships.

 

Mr. Ajibola Olalusi thanked Prof. Akinmoladun for his contributions to the town, especially in his contribution to our community. He encouraged him to continue balancing grassroots engagement with high-level connections, and to invest in empowerment programs.

 

Omoakin, speaking on behalf of the youth, stressed the need to actively involve young people, saying they are key to winning any election.

 

The Ward 9 Chairman proposed that equal representation be given to both recent defectors to the APC and long-time party members, to promote inclusiveness and harmony.

 

In his response, Prof. Akinmoladun thanked everyone and assured them that his home is always open to all, both physically and by phone. He expressed deep appreciation for the collective spirit of unity in across Obokun/Oriade.

 

Rounding off the meeting, Alhaji Rasaq called for continued support for Prof. Akinmoladun, reinforcing the strong message of solidarity that echoed throughout the gathering.
