Coordinated Bandit Attacks Hit Six Sokoto Villages

Tragic reports emerged from Sabon-Birni LGA in Sokoto State as armed bandits launched simultaneous assaults on six communities — Yar Bulutu, Gajit, Alkalawa, Garin Magaji, and Damba — late last night. Several residents lost their lives, many were injured, and an undisclosed number of people were taken captive during the attacks.
According to local accounts, some community members believe that recent developments in neighbouring Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara State — including an alleged peace deal involving the Bello Turji faction — might be linked to the increasing wave of attacks in Isa and Sabon-Birni LGAs. These claims, however, remain community-level observations and have not been officially verified.
