EFCC Arrests Two Men For Selling New Naira Notes In Enugu (Pictures)
The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Nweke Daniel Kelechi and Iroude Chibuzor for allegedly engaging in currency trafficking involving N850,000 (Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira).
The arrest occurred on Sunday, May 26, 2024, as part of a sting operation carried out by the Special Task Force of the EFCC near the United Bank for Africa (UBA), ESBS, Enugu State. This operation followed several days of surveillance and the gathering of actionable intelligence.
During the operation, Chibuzor was the first to be detained. Subsequent investigations revealed that he was operating under the direction of Kelechi, who had instructed him to sell newly issued Naira notes.
The suspects are expected to be formally charged once the investigation is co
mplete.
