EFCC Releases Pictures and Names of Suspects Behind CBEX Scam, Declares Them Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared four people wanted for their alleged involvement in a massive fraud linked to a cryptocurrency platform known as CBEX (CryptoBank Exchange).

In a post shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the EFCC released the names and photos of the suspects. The four individuals are:

Seyi Oloyede – last known address: 166 Idimu Egbeda Road, Lagos State.

Emmanuel Uko – also linked to the same address in Lagos.

Adefowora Oluwanisola – last seen at 13 Jimoh Odutola Street, Ogungpa, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Adefowora Abiodun Olaonipekun – shares the same Ibadan address.

According to the EFCC, these individuals are being investigated for their roles in a scam that caused Nigerians to lose over ₦1.3 trillion. CBEX was a crypto investment platform that promised high returns to investors but suddenly crashed in April 2025, leaving many people stranded and without their money.

The EFCC is now working with international agencies, including Interpol, to track down the suspects and recover lost funds.

The commission is calling on the public to help with any information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals. Anyone with useful details can contact the EFCC at their offices nationwide or reach them by email at info@efcc.gov.ng.

The EFCC also reminded Nigerians to be careful with investment platforms and to verify their legitimacy before putting in their money.
