Fire Devastates Abuja Market, Destroys 40 Shops

A significant fire broke out at Kaura Market, located across from Prince and Princess Estate in Abuja’s Kaura District, late Friday night. The blaze, which began around 11 p.m., destroyed approximately 40 shops. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.

At the time of this report, neither Ibrahim Muhammad, Spokesperson for the FCT Fire Service, nor Acting Director Amiola Adebayo were available for comment. Nkechi Isa, Spokesperson for the FCT Emergency Management Department, also could not immediately confirm the incident but promised to provide further details soon.
Reports indicate that traders were frustrated by the delayed response of the FCT Fire Service, which may have contributed to the fire’s spread and subsequent damage. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
