General Overseer Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping of Bishop and Other Crimes in Delta
The police in Delta State have arrested Bishop Godfrey, the General Overseer (GO) and founder of a new generation church, for allegedly attempting to kidnap a fellow bishop in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Bishop Godfrey, along with his wife, an Assistant Pastor, and several church elders, were apprehended and are currently detained at the Ughelli Police A’ Division. During a search of the GO’s residence, police discovered three Army uniforms and over 20 SIM cards.
The General Overseer, whose church is based in Agbarho, was initially traced to a hideout after escaping when he learned of his wife’s and others’ arrests.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the arrest and stated that an investigation is ongoing to uncover further details.
