Waste To Wealth: Soludo’s Unequivocal Effort In Placing Anambra State Recycling Companies On The Map Through Strategic Partnership And Advanced Upgrade

Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s new environmental approach/paradigm is to eliminate the concept of throwing away waste and replacing it with the concept of considering WASTE TO WEALTH with the focus on REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE.

It is a known phenomenon that recycling is the next phase in waste management, to this effect this present administration have been working with private players in building recycling plants for waste….channeling waste to more value adding uses

Out of the numerous already existing recycling hubs, Anambra State Government have additional two new recycling hubs; Smart Waste recycling hub at Nkwelle Ezunanka and The Recycling hub Awka situated at New Neighbourhood Layout Awka.

Anambra State Government recently created a body named Anambra State Waste Recyclers Association (ASWRA), the aim of the association is not only to organise and co-ordinate waste recyclers in the state, but to also lift-off their many challenges by regulating government policies, making smart laws to suit the recent economy which in turn will help sustain their businesses.

As part of the Anambra State advanced upgrade on waste recycling, a research/fact-finding and study visit to some advanced recycling companies was carried out by Mr Commissioner for Environment Engr Dr Felix Odimegwu and staffs from the Ministry of Environment Awka.
