Gunmen Kidnap 11 Family Members, Including Journalist’s Wife and Daughters, in Kaduna

In Kaduna State, gunmen have kidnapped 11 family members, including Aminat, the wife of Kogi-based journalist Muhammed Bashir, and their two daughters, Aisha and Hajara. The family had arrived in Kaduna on Thursday for a holiday.
Muhammed Bashir, a correspondent with the New Telegraph, shared the news of the abduction with colleagues in a brief statement on Friday from Lokoja. He wrote: “Dear colleagues, I need your prayers. My wife and two daughters, along with eight other family members, were kidnapped yesterday by unidentified gunmen in Kaduna. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.”
The other abducted family members include Aisha Saba Khadija, Haruna, Adamu Haruna, Muhammad Abubakar, Asmau Abubakar, Usman Abubakar, Muhammad Abubakar, and Hauwa Muhammad.
Bashir reported that he has been in touch with the police and the Department of State Security Services, who assured him that efforts are underway to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
