Gunmen Kill Councillor and Youth Leader, Attack Police Station in Ebonyi
In a tragic incident in Isu village, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, gunmen have killed Stanley Akpa Nweze and Arinze Joshua Ugochukwu. Nweze served as the councillor for Enuagu ward in the Onicha legislative council, while Ugochukwu was the coordinator for the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Onicha LGA.
The assailants fired shots into the air to disperse any onlookers before fleeing the scene.
Chidiebere Uzor Agwu, Chairman of Onicha Local Government Council, confirmed the incident and expressed profound shock at the loss of these community leaders. Agwu urged law enforcement to quickly apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In another incident, gunmen targeted the Ohaukwu Police Division in Ezzamgbo, the administrative center of Ohaukwu LGA in Ebonyi State.
