Honest Nigerian Youth Turns $14,000 Mistake into N7.5m Windfall

A Nigerian youth, Anjola Femi, has been handsomely rewarded by the crypto community for his integrity after returning $14,000 (over 21 million Naira) mistakenly credited to his account by a foreign crypto trader.

As of the latest updates, Anjola has received over N7.5 million in financial gifts from netizens who were impressed by his honesty.

An excited chemical engineering graduate, Anjola displayed his crypto wallet on Tuesday, showing a series of credit alerts and his growing balance.

The mistake happened when @raffayalvi, a foreign crypto trader, erroneously transferred $14,000 to Anjola’s account instead of the intended $100 prize from a giveaway. Upon realizing the error, the trader immediately contacted Anjola, who promptly returned the $14,000.

@raffayalvi shared Anjola’s commendable action on X, prompting netizens to request Anjola’s crypto wallet address and send him money as a reward.

Anjola explained his decision, stating he returned the money because it didn’t belong to him. By the time he displayed his crypto wallet balance on X, the cumulative gifts had reached over $5,000 (over N7.5 million).

In a video, Anjola recounted how the foreign trader mistakenly sent him the substantial amount during an attempt to transfer the $100 prize. The trader, realizing the mistake, quickly notified Anjola, who then returned the funds.

The incident has highlighted Anjola’s integrity, garnering significant appreciation and financial rewards from the online community. (The PUNCH)
