How Adeleye Ayomide Allegedly Murdered and Buried Christiana Idowu
A detailed report has emerged about the tragic case involving Christiana Idowu, who was reportedly abducted, murdered, and buried by Adeleye Ayomide.
On August 19, 2024, Christiana Idowu was reported missing after her abductors contacted her parents through her WhatsApp account. They initially reached out at around 8:49 p.m., sending photos of Idowu in captivity via WhatsApp’s ‘view once’ feature. They demanded a ransom of N1,500,000. Idowu’s family managed to raise N350,000, which they were instructed to deposit into a betting account.
On August 22, after receiving the money, the abductors requested the bank statement of the sender to be emailed to them. The family complied the next day, but communication with the abductors ceased immediately afterward. The funds were subsequently transferred from a GTB account into a Wema Bank account belonging to the main suspect (identity withheld for now).
By August 26, intelligence operatives began investigating the bank details. They confirmed that the BVN associated with the betting account belonged to the suspect, who had withdrawn N100,000 before the account was locked.
Further investigation revealed a connection between the suspect and Idowu, based on their mutual interactions on Instagram. Additionally, the account number used for the transaction had been publicly posted on Twitter in a giveaway request.
Tracking the suspect’s phone led operatives to his parents’ home in Ikorodu, where he was arrested by Nigerian Army personnel from the 174 Battalion. During the arrest, operatives discovered significant evidence, including Idowu’s blue ITEL A56 phone and details linking the suspect to the betting account and the transactions.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the crime on August 3, revealing that he had murdered Idowu and buried her at his residence. There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that the suspect was involved in similar crimes in the past, including the deaths of his ex-girlfriend in 2018 and his sister in 2020.
This case is deeply distressing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
