How Bauchi Man was Arrested for Stealing Bus in Plateau: Police Strike Fast

The Plateau State Police Command announced the arrest of Kabiru Mohammed, a resident of Sabon Gari Narabi in Toro LGA, Bauchi State, for allegedly stealing a Toyota Hiace bus.
Police spokesperson Alabo Alfred reported that Mohammed was apprehended on Wednesday in Jos, the state capital, just three days after the vehicle was reported missing.
According to the statement, “The Plateau State Police Command is pleased to inform the public that a stolen Toyota Hiace bus, missing since Monday, September 16, 2024, has been successfully recovered. Following the report, officers from the Bukuru Division quickly initiated stop-and-search operations in the area. The vehicle was located in the possession of Kabiru Mohammed at around 12:45 AM on September 18, 2024.”
The suspect is currently in custody, providing valuable information that may lead to further recoveries. Once the investigation is complete, he will face charges in court.
Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining safety and security in the state, emphasizing that any actions threatening the peace will not be tolerated. He also urged the public to share timely and accurate information with law enforcement to enhance safety efforts in Plateau.
