How Son Was Arrested For Killing His Father Over ₦5,000 In Delta

A 23-year-old man identified simply as Success has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly hacking his father to death with a cutlass.
FIRST CLASS GISTS gathered on Thursday that the gruesome and shocking machete attack occurred in Amukpe community in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State “a few days ago.”
An eyewitness told our correspondent on Thursday that the incident occurred at the family’s residence in Amukpe after Success demanded N5,000 from his father, who, however, refused to oblige him with the demand.
It was gathered that Success did not take kindly to the refusal of the father to grant his request.
A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Success had a history of substance abuse and was known to exhibit erratic behaviour when under the influence.
“Everyone in this area knows Success as a drug addict who always misbehaved whenever he had taken those drugs”, the neighbour said.
According to the neighbour, “On the fateful evening, Success returned home arguing hotly with his father over the monetary request.”
It was gathered that the altercation escalated, and in a fit of rage, Success reportedly grabbed a cutlass and inflicted a machete attack on the elderly man.
Consequently, the blood-soaked father was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment but sadly succumbed to death as an aftermath of the injuries, sources said.
When contacted on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident stating that “Success has already been taken into custody.”
